Birkenhead is embarking on a radical transformation – and we need you to help shape it with us.
Wirral Council has developed a 20-year plan which would see major improvements across the whole town, bringing about the biggest changes to Birkenhead since the 1947 Town Plan. The plan, called the Birkenhead 2040 Framework, sets out proposals for one of the most ambitious regeneration projects in the UK and includes:
- Revitalising the town centre to boost business and retail
- Opening up the Mersey waterfront as a world-class visitor destination
- Making streets more people-friendly
- Creating new family-friendly neighbourhoods with new homes, parks and green spaces
They want to hear from anyone with a connection to the town to share their views on the future of Birkenhead. You might live, work or invest in Birkenhead, be an occasional visitor or have family in the area. If you care about Birkenhead, now is the time to have your say and make an impact.
They will use the feedback from this consultation to shape the final draft of Wirral’s Local Plan, the land-use strategy for the Borough, which will be published for public comment later this summer.
