Five Ways – is a series of themed weeks based across the areas of Liverpool, St Helen’s, Sefton, Wirral and Knowsley to promote cultural volunteering based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
The themed weeks will bring people together and build strong relationships to sustain and strengthen current cultural services. Radio programming will feature inspirational role models demonstrating how people can play a full/active part in the life of their community whilst at the same time building their own levels of wellbeing, skills and potential.
The themed weeks will use the airwaves to connect listeners to groups and groups to listeners . The Campaign output will promote groups, opportunities and provide taster opportunities in the 5 areas mentioned. We know from past experience running similar campaigns – that when listeners are energised – 80% attending outreach taster/sampling events have gone on to join a group.
will be linked to Liverpool’s Living Well strategy and improve story gathering
so a rich human library of stories can be gathered. Our feedback indicates that
older people want to volunteer but don’t know where to start, who to talk to or
the opportunities available within communities.
The planned radio output during the 5 themed weeks includes:
* Information for bespoke volunteer opportunities which can be used by the volunteer radio station helpline for referral to volunteer opportunities
* Outreach events linked to the five campaign themes where local people can learn more and meet with groups.
* Media training sessions for small cultural organisations on media literacy skills – to improve their capacity to market their services more effectively.
