The Asda Foundation support small grassroots organisations in a number of ways throughout the year. Working with Asda’s Community Champions in store they are able to work with organisations and groups on a range of projects.
Below are the different grants, support, and funding available for organisations to aid communities through the Asda Foundation.
- FEEDING COMMUNITIES GRANT
This grant is available to help provide meals to anyone in need in the lead up to Christmas. With more local and national lockdowns in place, supporting those with food provision is need now more than ever.
- MATCH FUNDING
All colleagues are encouraged to fundraise for charities of their choice. This can range from bake sales to marathons, raffles to sponsored head shaves. Asda Colleagues can claim up to £300 per year to match funds they raise for charities and good causes which meet the schemes eligibility criteria.
The Asda Foundation can provide assistance during times of emergency. This includes emergencies on a personal level such as a house fire or a community wide disaster such as floods. To enquire about an emergency grant, contact your local Asda store who will work with the Asda Foundation to provide support.
- TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES AND IMPROVING LINE GRANTS
These grants are about bringing people together in local communities. This could be by offering better facilities, providing easier access to activities for all ages and abilities and encouraging everyone to celebrate what is important to them.
Unfortunately, as a result of Covid-19, these grants have been placed on hold as the Asda Foundation are unable to bring people together in local communities for the time being.
- GREEN TOKEN GIVING
This programme allows customers to nominate a charity or a good cause and give them the opportunity to be part of the Asda Foundation’s quarterly customers vote. Winners of this vote get £500 and runners up receive £200.
Unfortunately as a result of Covid-19, Green Token Giving is not currently taking place in stores.

In response to Covid-19, the Asda Foundation have entered a new partnership with Royal Voluntary Service to help tackle loneliness and isolation in your local communities.
Thanks to a £200,000 donation for the Asda Foundation, the Royal Voluntary service will be able to make 100,000 calls to people who are on their own during the lockdown.
