People across Wirral are invited to take part in Wirral’s biggest ever conversation about health, starting on Monday, January 11.
The team from Healthy Wirral, made up of health and social care professionals working towards more integrated services, want as many people as possible to tell them what matters to them about health and health and social care in Wirral.
The feedback will be used to shape health and social care services around the needs of all people in the community, wherever they live, and whatever their needs.
Dr Pete Naylor, Chair of Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group, which commissions services for Wirral funded by the NHS, said: ‘This is a chance for everyone to get involved to let us know what really matters to them. We want to ensure that we really listen and put people at the heart of everything we do.
‘The conversation starts now, and is the beginning of a much bigger exercise to involve everyone in Wirral in how we put people at the centre of our services, and support each other to stay well.’
Cllr Chris Jones, Wirral’s Cabinet Member for Adult Health and Social Care, said: ‘Supporting people to stay well and stay living independently is one of our key pledges over the next five years, and this is a great opportunity for Wirral people to help drive this work forward; from how our IT systems work, to how we communicate, and how well we measure how our health services are really delivering what matters to Wirral. I would urge everyone who cares about the health and wellbeing of our communities – and ourselves – to take part.’
There will be plenty of opportunities for people to get involved. The Healthy Wirral team will be running more than 40 workshops in partnership with Wirral’s voluntary and community sector, throughout January.
