Amber Button is an independent, grass-roots, community organisation specialising in programmes of adult learning.
Based in Birkenhead, working throughout Wirral, Cheshire West and Wrexham, they are a community organization offering quality adult learning, training, and support.
Amber Button Community is a Community Interest Company, which means that they provide not for profit services, activities, and events for the benefit of the communities in which we live and work.
They have a clear vision and ethos, which is to help people to progress along a pathway of positive change. They decide their own aims, priorities and pathways but, where they share the same objectives, frequently work in partnership with third sector, public or private organisations.
As things have started to move again within community learning, Amber Button have created a quick list to briefly cover some of the courses that they can now offer again to your families (aged 19+).
The courses are fully funded to all with a Merseyside postcode. They also have a timetable of activities for families, children and teens that will run through the half term holidays all now delivered remotely.
Courses and workshops list:
-Working in an Office
-Working in Retail
-Working in Customer Services
-Passport to Work
The courses are going to be flexible with delivery either face to face or remotely and are aimed at individuals who want to make a change to their current situation e.g. achieving a qualification that is recognised by employers and may help with employment prospects and/or engaging with a new group of people to increase confidence.
Participants will be worked with to identify their skill set, encouraging them to acknowledge what their strengths and weaknesses are, identify the skills they need to develop and build confidence.
Progression opportunities may include further learning, volunteering or employment that will enable learners to develop and enhance their skills and support them to reach their long-term goal of gaining paid and sustainable employment.
Learners will complete appropriate and relevant Initial Assessment activities to establish a starting point. This information will be recorded in a personalised work book. Learners will use work books to record their work and achievements and provide evidence of progression and development.
They are still working on dates, times and venues whilst they are working on numbers and interest.
