Wirral is at a turning point for economic growth. Over the last five years, significant progress has been made in positioning Wirral as a place to live, work, visit and invest and we need to maintain this momentum.
In this critical time for the Borough, a new Economic Strategy is needed to ensure that prosperity can be achieved for all. The Council is consulting on an initial framework document that sets out ideas on the direction of the new Economic Strategy. It has been produced by officers in Wirral Council, with the support of economic consultants Hatch. It is intentionally not a finished document. It is something that is designed to stimulate debate, ideas and engagement amongst partner organisations, and local residents and businesses. We will use the results of this engagement to develop and finalise the Strategy in Autumn 2021.
Consultation on the initial framework document will begin at 12pm on Wednesday 25 August 2021. The deadline for comments is 5 pm on Wednesday 22 September 2021.
