£500m investment in youth services – have your say!

From UK Youth;

Last week, the Chancellor announced a £500m investment in youth centres over the next 5 years. Thank you for your support and commitment in helping us to influence national policy and spending to provide more investment in young people and the sector. We know that this doesn’t replace the £1bn lost over the last 9 years but we’re pleased that the Government has started to recognise the value and need for local youth services.

Our work doesn’t stop here, we’ve been working really hard behind the scenes trying to influence how this money reaches the sector and it would be really helpful to be able to have some data from the Movement to back that up. We want to make sure that the funding is distributed in the most effective way, to ensure that local grass roots youth organisations are able to access and benefit.

We are asking everyone in our movement to complete this short survey about how they would like the fund to be distributed and what the priorities should be. If you’re an infrastructure organisation, please send this onto your networks/ membership, we want to ensure that as many voices as possible are heard.

We will be using the results from the survey to continue our influencing efforts and ensure young people who are most at need will be able to benefit from this funding.

If you’d like to have a call to share your thoughts or discuss it further please do feel free to contact me!
