We offer funding for specialist community and voluntary organisations working with carers or the rehabilitation of offenders or ex-offenders within the UK
The Triangle Trust recognises in the current economic climate, building a solid foundation for long-term sustainability for your organisation can be of higher importance than starting a new project. We, therefore, offer Development Grants to provide funds towards your organisation’s core costs.
We would like to see applicants use these grants to develop sustainable income sources so that when our grant comes to end your organisation’s income will not be reduced.
Grants are available for up to £80,000 over three years with a maximum of £35,000 in year one. We would expect to see the amount requested each year tapering down as applicants develop other income streams to replace the grant income.
The emphasis of the Development Grant is to support the development of a solid foundation for the future. Our grant could, for example, be used to enable an organisation to make a step change such as diversifying its income streams or setting up a social enterprise to help it become more sustainable in the long term.
Rehabilitation of offenders and ex-offenders
Across the prison population including men, women and youth at least 1 in 2 prisoners released will re-offend within a year. Offenders need information to make the right decisions about their lives in the community: where they will live; how they will gain a legitimate income; how they will rebuild their family ties, or form new ones. They should also be helped to find support for mental health needs and substance misuse. For the benefit of the individual offenders and society, we would like to see the re-offending rates in the UK reduce and offer dedicated funding to organisations working with offenders whilst in prison and after they are released to bring this about. Unfortunately, we can only offer funding to specialist offender organisations rather than those with a broader remit which run offender projects.
The application process is two-stage. Following the submission of your initial online application, shortlisted applicants will be asked to host a visit from the Triangle Trust where they will be required to present their strategic plan for the next few years.
The next closing dates are:
- Noon 2 November 2017 for organisations working with the rehabilitation of offenders and ex-offenders
Only complete applications submitted using the online form by noon on the published closing date will be accepted. Please ensure you meet all the criteria before deciding to apply.
