Wirral Hospice St John’s is to host a conference on shared decision making in end of life care.

Whose Life is it Anyway? is open to all health and social care professionals with an interest in end of life care.

The conference aims to raise awareness of the need to support shared decision making, discuss its benefits, and explore how to support shared decision making in patient groups where it can be more challenging.

Keynote speakers will include Rob George, Medical Director at St Christopher’s Hospice and Professor of Palliative Care at King’s College London, talking about ethical considerations in shared decision making, Sue Hogston, Sue Ryder Associate, on human rights and how they are key to care provision, and Dr Irene Tuffrey-Wijne, Associate Professor in Intellectual Disability & Palliative Care, on shared decision making for people with an intellectual disability.

The conference takes place on Wednesday February 28 at Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port/Cheshire Oaks.
