Q. How can my charity take part?
A. Any UK charity can join the competition; you’ll just need to ensure that you have enrolled with PayPal Giving Fund, eBay’s partner charity. Check the charity directory to see if you are enrolled here.
If you’re not enrolled, you can join the thousands of charities that are by signing up for free. Just follow these steps:
- Apply for a PayPal business account for your charity
- Confirm your charitable status
- Enrol your charity with PayPal Giving Fund
All favourite votes will be tracked throughout October, so if you’re enrolled with PayPal Giving Fund you’ll automatically be part of the competition.
Q. How long does the My Favourite Charity competition run?
A. My Favourite Charity is running from the 1st – 31st October 2016. Favourites for the competition will only be considered within these dates.
Q. How will my charity benefit from taking part?
A. As well as the chance to win a cash prize during October, our research shows that eBay customers who have a favourite charity are 20 times more likely to donate to them in the future.
Once a customer has selected a favourite charity they’ll be shown this charity as the cause to support whenever they buy or sell on eBay, meaning you’ll more likely to receive ongoing support and raise additional funds via eBay for Charity.
Q. What is PayPal Giving Fund?
A. PayPal Giving Fund is a registered charity (No.1110538) that enables eBay and its partners, such as PayPal, to raise funds on behalf of UK charities. eBay for Charity is powered by PayPal Giving Fund and the organisation works with UK charities to help with fundraising opportunities using the eBay platform.
