Changes At Community Action Wirral

0

We want to let you know about the changes that we are making at Community Action Wirral (CAW).  As you may know from our most recent press release CAW has won the new Third Sector Local Infrastructure contract and will be working in collaboration with Wirral Chamber of Commerce to deliver this service.

The new contract has already brought significant benefits to the sector in Wirral, including a 50% discount in Wirral Chamber of Commerce membership fees to 3rd sector organisations, allowing you use the expertise and the benefits they have to offer.

Through these changes, and the support we will be offering we have carried out a restructuring of Community Action Wirral, and are delighted to be able to share some more information with you:

–    Annette Roberts (CEO) will be moving into a new role as Advisor to the Trustee Board and so will not be dealing with the day to day operational running of the organisation.

–    A new Head of Service appointment, with Mel O’Connor taking an instrumental role in delivering the new vision and approach for the contract,      managing the team and exploring other business development opportunities.  Many of you will know Mel through her role as Social Enterprise Development Manager for Wirral Council and her time delivering business growth support for the Chamber of Commerce and as a private consultant.

–    A new social media and publicity support function for both the business and the sector with the appointment of Stephen McHardy.

–    A new Development Officer role with the appointment of Keelan Early.  Keelan will work closely with Zel Rodgers to deliver support, information and advice.

Mel O’Connor added, “ I look forward to sharing our new vision with you and supporting the sector in its sustainability and commercial development aims.”
