0 The Honorary Treasurers Handbook – a new free resource for treasurers

The handbook offers essential advice, information and support for Charity Treasurers in all aspects of their role. There are many guides to charity finance but Treasurers need not only accounting knowledge but also the skill and competency to work well with others and to ensure that other trustees are enabled to fulfil their own responsibilities for finance. This handbook is particularly helpful with the ‘softer’ aspects of the role.

0 Wirral Playing Pitch Strategy Update

An updated strategy for playing pitches for football, cricket, rugby, hockey, bowling greens and tennis courts can be viewed on the Council’s website at http://www.wirral.gov.uk/planning-and-building/local-plans-and-planning-policy/local-plans/core-strategy-local-plan-6.  A copy of the updated strategy can also be viewed at public libraries and at the South Annexe of Wallasey Town Hall.  Further information can be obtained from [email protected] or 0151 691 8110.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) will launch a dedicated advice line on Wednesday 1 November at 10 am to help small organisations prepare for a new data protection law.

The phone service is aimed at people running small businesses or charities and recognises the particular problems they face getting ready for the new law, called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

0 Wirral Intelligence Service and the launch of a new intelligence focused website for Wirral

Wirral Intelligence Service are launching a new service in Wirral, joining forces with Wirral’s JSNA to give individuals and organisations across the Community and Voluntary Sector, access to a wealth of local information and easy to use intelligence including mapping, profiling and reporting tools.

The new website, which has just launched this month, continues with the JSNA (Joint Strategic Needs Assessment) which provides a snapshot of the needs and issues affecting Wirral residents.
