0 Understanding the corporate volunteering landscape – take part in a short survey – deadline 28th July 2017

The Corporate Volunteer Network (CVN) have put together a survey to allow the third sector to better understand the current corporate volunteering landscape and attitudes towards and the value of it. This is your chance to shape discussion in the sector and be a part of a piece of work that will hopefully provide some practical tips to help to improve corporate volunteering offerings.

The survey can be found here. Responses are due by the 28th of July. It should take 15-20 minutes to complete and all responses will be anonymous.

0 STRATEGIC HOUSING LAND AVAILABILITY ASSESSMENT UPDATE – deadline for comments 18th September 2017

Following further consultation on the Borough’s housing needs and land supply, in August and September 2016, the Council is undertaking an update of the method that it will use to assess the supply of sites for future housing development.

The deadline for comments to be submitted is 5pm on Monday 18 September 2017.

0 Designation of a new community-led Forum for Birkenhead North

Following public consultation, the Birkenhead North Neighbourhood Alliance has now been formally designated as the statutory neighbourhood forum for the geographical area set out in their recent application.

The Alliance will now be able to prepare statutory neighbourhood planning proposals for the area, in consultation with the local community.

This is a beta website to help improve access to information on investment and finance for charities and social enterprises. In its first phase you can explore information about social investment, social impact measurement and the project itself. As the website grows we will include broader information on wider finance and investment for charities and social enterprises.

0 Making of a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Hoylake

A Neighbourhood Development Plan for Hoylake was brought into legal force by Wirral Council on 19 December 2016.

Decisions on whether or not to grant planning permission in Hoylake will now be made in accordance with the Plan unless material considerations indicate otherwise.

Copies of the Plan and of the Council’s Decision Statement can be inspected at Hoylake Library, The Parade (Hoylake Community Centre), Melrose Hall and at the Council’s offices at Wallasey Town Hall and on the Council’s website at

0 Revised guide to Charity Fundraising for Trustees

The Charity Commission is inviting feedback on its draft revised guidance ‘Charity fundraising: a guide to trustee duties’, its document number CC20.

The draft guidance has been updated and amended following several media investigations into some charities’ fundraising practices, and in the wake of the closure of Kids Company and the questions raised about its governance.
