  • Do you have any suggestions with regard to the agenda for the meeting?

  • Would you attend these network events?

  • Would you be interested in working on the Steering Group?

It was proposed at the last ‘Small Fundraisers’ peer network meeting that our sector on Wirral needed a regular opportunity to meet with each other, and other sectors to improve operations, access support and discover links, reduce costs and improve sustainability for organisations within the not for profit sector.

We propose to run a regular Action Exchange Network meeting if we have feedback from you to tell us that this is of interest and would be attended by you.

The objectives of this network would be:

  • To create regular and structured opportunity for voluntary organisations to meet up in conversation with each other and the business, and statutory sectors.
  • To create a marketplace environment to showcase and share resources.
  • To create opportunities to share skills and learn from each other.
  • To collectively develop diverse income streams or income savings.

The network will be managed by a steering group of organisations from the sector with a roaming chair and administrated by Community Action Wirral.  Community Action Wirral would also donate venue and refreshment costs.

Here are two suggested articles that could be used as a press release for the first meeting.

‘We would like to welcome you to Wirral’s first Action Exchange Network event – Come with ideas, links, contacts to share, and a wish list of links and contacts to ask for.  This is your opportunity to meet with others in the voluntary sector in an informal and informative way to help you to make your organisation the best that it can be, and take advantage of sharing skills and resources without having to find much-needed funds to do so.  Also meet people from the business sector keen to exemplify their social corporate responsibility to the sector.’

or

‘ Do you have some business challenges that may not be unique to your organisation, but with a little help from outside the challenge could be solved?

On the other hand, do you have an opportunity to offer another organisation?

  • For instance excess office space you don’t use could you offer reduced rent? Might be a small additional income for your company.
  • Underutilised car parking space.
  • Meeting room space for very low hire rate?
  • Collaboration to strengthen a funding bid?
  • Want to meet like-minded business people like yourself.
  • Does your organisation want to exemplify social corporate responsibility in business the sector?

You get the idea, these and many more opportunities as a pro bono or direct transaction it’s up to you. You make the offer and you make the request.  If this sounds like it could help you then “Action Exchange Network” launch event is for you.’

Or the press article could be a combination of both articles.
